| Although car insurance is legally compulsory, it is often argued that it is acceptable to drive a car which is uninsured if you have an insurance policy in place with the Driving Other Cars(DAC) extension which as the name suggests allows you to drive cars not owned by yourself on a third party basis, however the moment you park the car on a public highway such as outside a friends house then it becomes uninsured. It is hard to come to a conclusion as to whether or not driving a car under these circumstances would be considered as driving uninsured or not and as such it's not advised. |
