| Whilst you may typically think of the post office offering home insurance as unusual, now days it's not that odd at all since they now offer a huge range of insurance products ranging from insuring your house to your car and all from a trusted name. No longer is it purely a place to send off those birthday cards and business letters. The postoffice have been known to offer cashback when insuring your building and contents at the same time, although these offers only run from time to time. |

| When insuring your home it's important to remember that you should be using the rebuild value of the property and not the sale price. For example your house may be worth £300,000 when sold but it may only cost £120,000 to rebuild it from scratch taking into account site clearance etc. You can find out the rebuild or re-instatement value of your property by having a full buildings survey undertaken or alternatively look on the survey carried out by your mortgage provider. |
